Armada Race Reveal Part 2
Friday, 11 June 2010 11:50

Hello everybody!                                                                                11 working days to release!

Leading up to the UK release and starting today, there will be 12 daily posts on our cool upcoming release “Armada 2526”. This deep hybrid ‘4x’ strategy game, from developer Shining Pixel Studios (lead by Bob Smith, known from the Total Wars series), continues the great tradition of space opera games. You guide your race from its first interstellar journeys until it becomes a mighty galactic empire. Along the way, you’ll explore the galaxy, conduct research, diplomacy and trade with the other races, found new colonies, maneuver mighty star fleets, and fight epic battles.

There are twelve different races, with each race possessing a distinct set of racial traits. Each race has at least one faction - some have more, each bearing a close resemblance to the main strain of their race but often possessing slightly different traits or victory conditions.

In these posts the twelve different races are going to be revealed, especially for you! This handy information helps you to prepare yourself for trading with the different races and spotting weaknesses and strengths in order to achieve the ultimate goal of galactic dominance!

CHAPTER 2; the HUMANS

Human-resizedChances are, if you’re playing this game, that you’re one of these monkey descendents. Compared to some races, they are quite recently evolved, and their bright agile minds make them strong in technology, but also a little argumentative and prone to internal division.

They are also somewhat rooted in four dimensional space-time and have a hard time grasping the nuances of hyperspace and the psychic realm. Humans survived many wars and resource shortages before forming a democratic world government and launching into space.

They are exceptionally tolerant of alien species, and welcome any sentient beings into their alliance. Despite this, they remain adept in the arts of interstellar war.
The humans also consist of several groups. Before the main effort of the Human world government to explore space, various private groups left Earth, and founded their own colonies. The largest of these was a religious group, who came to call themselves the Faithful. Sensing a pivotal time in galactic history, they are seeking to expand and spread the word by whatever means are available, be it diplomacy, trade or war.

Well, that’s it for today! But make sure to come back Monday 14 June for chapter 3; A.R.O.M.!
