Armada Race Reveal Part 3
Monday, 14 June 2010 13:34

Hello everybody!                                                                                          10 working days to release!

Leading up to the UK release and starting today, there will be 12 daily posts on our cool upcoming release “Armada 2526”. This deep hybrid ‘4x’ strategy game, from developer Shining Pixel Studios (lead by Bob Smith, known from the Total Wars series), continues the great tradition of space opera games. You guide your race from its first interstellar journeys until it becomes a mighty galactic empire. Along the way, you’ll explore the galaxy, conduct research, diplomacy and trade with the other races, found new colonies, maneuver mighty star fleets, and fight epic battles.

There are twelve different races, with each race possessing a distinct set of racial traits. Each race has at least one faction - some have more, each bearing a close resemblance to the main strain of their race but often possessing slightly different traits or victory conditions.

In these posts the twelve different races are going to be revealed, especially for you! This handy information helps you to prepare yourself for trading with the different races and spotting weaknesses and strengths in order to achieve the ultimate goal of galactic dominance!

CHAPTER 3: A.R.O.M.

AROM-resizedThe Ancient Race of Machines, or A.R.O.M. are a robotic race who have taken on the mental characteristics of living things. They are individualistic, conservative, vain, jealous and even occasionally forgetful.

Immortal due to their synthetic bodies, they hold that an existence based on pure logic would be pointless, and that it is their ability to be whimsical, capricious and eccentric that gives their lives meaning.

They are suspicious of new technology, as they fear being made obsolete by something more advanced, and are also reluctant to increase their number too quickly for fear of reducing their own uniqueness as individuals. They are however great builders, as huge construction projects appeal to their rather pompous egos.

Well, that’s it for today! But make sure to come back tomorrow for chapter 4; Cryokon!
